Cranberry and Taupes...LOTD

Hi Doll...

Using mainly the Sephora Mini Shopping Bag Makeup Pallette and a few MAC e/s, this look is flattering for the brown eyed girl but can be tweaked a bit for the green or hazel eyed gal. Definately something safe enough for daytime or even for work-add a little intensity with lashes, and liner for evening. A sucker for Fall makeup, this is what I came up with...

  • Smashbox Photo Finish Eye Primer
  • Sephora Mini Shopping Bag Makeup Pallette
  • NYX Jumbo Pencil in Iced Mocha
  • MAC Shroom
  • MAC Fig1
  • LORAC Front of the Line Pro Felt Tip Liner
  • UD 24/7 Liner in Zero
  • Ardell Demi Wispie lashes

Keepin it soft and sexy~

They're Real Mascara

Benefits They're Real Mascara is the business!

This mascara definitely lifts, volumizes, seperates, and does not clump! I especially love that the formula allows you to easily curl your lashes after drying with out yanking out half of them with the eyelash curler, not to mention this stuff doesn’t flake by mid-day…not a cute look! The bristles work their way up in the lash line and feels as though it lifts every single hair without clumping or leaving too much product at the tip. A little pricey next to L’oreal but well worth it and I recommend to everyone-especially if you have a problem with fine lashes like myself!

Retails for $23.00 or pick up the mini as a stocking stuffer for only $10 bucks!

After having my daughter 6 years ago, I had bells palsy (facial peralysis) on the right side of my face causing all of my lashes to fall out from  my right eye. So, to even things out and give myself a face lift at the same time, I wore falsies…. for 6 years now resulting in both  eyes having very thin, sparse lashes that resembled singed, broken hair more than anything else. As hard as it was to break the habit, I stopped wearing them about 4 months ago and have noticed not only a difference to my wallet but a major difference to the fullness in my natural lashes.

Benefits They’re Real intensifies, gives base to tip curl and lasts the whole work day…I wont jump the gun and say ALL DAY…LOL but you will see lasting results! Nothing another quick coat and lash curler can’t cure♥

Take care dolls,

K♥

Fall Outfit of the Evening

On Friday I had the pleasure of attending a local event in Morgan Hill  to honor the 10th anniversary of our local Community and Cultural Center and Philanthropy Recognition Day. And ahem....perfect opportunity to bust out the Fall gear!

This is what I wore... A little blurry I know but I stuck with a simple black cap sleeved dress, black Madden Girl heels, a leopard print trench (my favorite jacket ever) and a simple black clutch. The black cap sleeved a-line dress by New York and Company was perfect with a high scoop neck and  a-line shape complimented with hidden pockets.

Here it is from the website-minus the belt-copped it for $25 bucks a while back, Madden Girl stilettos from Macys $50, and my fave leopard print trench from TJ Maxx for $40!!!

At first I thought it might be a bit much considering I am one of the youngest there. Then I thought screw it, I have had 2 kids, never go out, and damnit I look good! Surprisingly, the compliments were flowing from men and women! As my employer was a sponsor of the event, it was the perfect opportunity to dress up, enjoy a nice dinner and glass(es) of wine with no kids around...lol and rub shoulders with local business owners and dignitaries.

Makeup of the evening kept it elegant and classy with liquid liner, soft pink lip, contoured and blushed cheeks and flawless skin. Perfect example of keepin it simple can go a long way not to mention kicks up the SEXY honey! Now, I have another dilemma...I am CONVINCED that I need a black trench as well! Champagne taste on a beer budget y'all!

My 2 personal fashion motto's

  • Always compliment your outfit with 1 piece that pops. This look was all black erything and the leopard trench to compliment the ensemble.
  •  Classy, Sassy, and a bit Smart Assy!
Have a wonderful week doll!

FLESH and GORE!!!!

With some skin and blood and 2 creative minds...this is what we came up with LOL. This being my first time working with prosthetic skin and latex, it didnt come out too bad☺ The whole thing was waaaaayyy funner than I thought it would be. Plus, my son was up to it and was a great actor ☺

Nothing like fresh blood and guts!!!!

Happy Halloween Y'all...Have fun and be safe!

MAC Goodies and LOTD

Hi friend!

So even though this weeks MAC haul is not super original nor does it include peices from the absolutely TO DIE FOR Holiday 2012 collection =(  it does go back to basics with some tried and true MAC products I always come back to. So with out further ado~this is what I picked up...

Shown above from left to right:

Ruby Woo Lipstick
Dipdown Fluid Liner
Pro Longwear Concealer
Burgundy Lipliner
Sheer Pressed Powder

Ruby Woo-My personal ALL TIME favorite red lip color. Not too harsh, contains a smidgin of blue and compliments those of us with cool undertones beautifully. (keep scrolling down)

Dip Down-Not a brown eye liner kinda gal however this stuff is KILLER for shaping the brows using the right tools, some Embark and alotta blending (and practice). Because this is a flat, matte brown when used with embark, you don't get that reddish brown or blackish looking color to your brow by mid day. Did I mention my brows don't go anywheres???? See below...

Dip Down Fluidline on Brows blended with Embark, Shroom Highlight, LORAC Front of the Line Pro Liner, MAC Pro Longwear Concealer, Demi Wispies

Pro Longwear Concealer-this is a new addition to my collection mainly because I have never been a fan of liquid concealer. This Pro Long Wear is outstanding - even better than the Studio Fix Concealer which is way thicker and concentrated. Because I am consistently sporting bags or blue/black circles in my inner eye and under eye, a MAC artist recommended this formula to me and boy was he spot on! Apparently, the studio fix wasn't doing the trick because its way too thick and the skin under and around our eyes is so thin, pigmented and sensitive-basically, I was makin that shit worse! Its definately long lasting, can be applied with fingers or a beauty blender and should always be set with some translucent. powder. It was $18.50 (I beleive) well worth it-will definately be purchasing again.

Burgundy Lipliner-excellent color payoff, compliments Ruby Woo beautifully as a contour to shape the lip or to add a little dimension to the edges as the color is very rich and the pencil glides seamlessly. See Laura Arellano's Vampy Red Lip Tutorial I shared a couple weeks back (keep scrolling down)-she's makes it look effortless! Check her out and follow her You Tube Channel for inspiration!

Sheer Pressed Powder-Something new I wanted to give a whirl for its light soft finish since the Studio Fix Powder/Foundation breaks me out something awful. So far so good - where is some wood when I need it ...lol? Because the finish is meant to be soft and light, it sets foundation beautifully, works EXCELLENT as a mid day touch up without feeling cakey, and absorbs oil like there is no tommorrow so honestly if you already have dry skin, skip this product! Furthermore, if your looking for a full coverage powder keep it movin-this will only conceal minor imperfections. Great for oily tzone, midday touch ups, as a setting powder, no shimma or shine just a finely milled, versatile, matte pressed powder.

In addition to the MAC goodies☺I FINALLY got my hands on the LORAC Front of the Line Pro Liner. This has been on the "To Get" list for some time and it is SO good that literally everytime i have remembered to pick it up Sephora is sold out.

Check out the fine felt tip on this pen below. Couple things I love right off the bat:
how easy the pen is to use-no different than holding a writing pen
Waterproof but unlike most H2O resistant liners, it dries almost instantly and to a matte finish. Not that shiny look most waterproof liners give.
Lasts ALL DAY- no joke! Anything can change but for the moment, this is the only liner Im wearing.
Sets smoothly and the tip does not skip after drying-especially important for those of us who love our winged liner ☺

So this is what I came up with...simple and flattering with a Ruby Woo pout.

Im so glad I splurged on these items last week. Instead of coming up on newest e/s shades and buying all sorts of fancy overpriced stuff, there is something to be said as far as going back to basics, keeping it simple and allowing the makeup to flatter your features vs. going dramatic and over done.

Check out some of these products for yourself - you be the judge! Have a wonderful week beautiful!
Take care...

a few good buys~

If your a Sephora VIB, youve had to have caught wind of the 65% off sale last week on select items.  First Come First Serve so here are a few things I picked up for the heck of it♥

 Lancome BienFait Multi-Vital Moisturizer 2.5oz
(I have no clue what the means up there...lol)
Let me just say I really like the feel of my skin after using this for a few days. Definately softer and a tad bit brighter-could just be me though.
I love the creams whipped texture so the feel is light and non greasy.

How sexy is this LeRouge Lip Color by MAKEUP FOREVER????? Color payoff isnt as intense as the lip stick itself but is none the less a beautiful, non offensive, shade of red. I LOVE the matte intensity of Ruby Woo but MUFE comes thru with a well moisturized perfectly red pout for daytime.

Toki Doki Pallete for $3bucks??!!! How could I resist for real! So I picked up a few for some of my favorite people in the world☺

These handy dandy palletes are perfect pocket size with 4 shades and a peachy blush. Honestly, the payoff of the eye color is ....MEH. but the blush reminds me of Coralista with a little more shimma!

E/S swatches...

On the other hand, with the right base, and build up of color, you can create a soft daytime look or kick it up with metallic gold. I'm still playing with mine-I love how I can just pop this in my purse for quick daytime touchups.
